Dr. Kaufman joined Quest Diagnostics in 1992 and has served as Medical Director for many functions including its first Chief Laboratory Officer and Six Sigma Quality Leader. Currently, he is the Senior Medical Director, Information Ventures and leader for Quest Diagnostics Health Trends.™

Dr. Kaufman is a diplomate of the American Board of Pathology, (Anatomic and Clinical Pathology) with a sub-specialty in Chemical Pathology. Dr. Kaufman earned his BS and MS from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MD from Boston University School of Medicine, and MBA with Distinction from New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business, where he was also a Stern Scholar.
David joined Quest Diagnostics in 2015 as General Manager, Information Ventures. The Information Ventures team at Quest Diagnostics helps their partners leverage a vast clinical insights database, containing greater than 40 billion lab results, to make informed healthcare decisions.
David has more than 25 years of healthcare innovation experience with a number of industry-leading companies, including Philips Healthcare, GE Healthcare, Becton Dickinson, and Convergence Medical Devices. David has been a sought-after contributor to a number of start-up companies in healthcare and technology.
David earned an MBA from Northeastern University’s High Technology Management program, an MA in Communications from Emerson College, and a BA from Vassar College.
Gregg Snell joined Quest Diagnostics in July 2015 as a Lead Analyst, and is responsible for utilizing intranet web applications to combine disparate information systems into actionable data marts for end users. Inspired by the challenge of “it can’t be done,” Snell works collaboratively with the Information Ventures team at Quest Diagnostics to use their vast clinical insights database, in conjunction with third-party databases, to uncover unique data insights that illuminate key intervention opportunities.
Gregg has 35 years of data management and application development experience with the SAS Software System on mainframes, Unix systems, and PCs. As a certified SAS Advanced Programmer, he is a frequent driver of enhancements within Quest Diagnostics intranet and database programming.
Gregg earned a BS in Computer Science from Kansas State University School of Technology. As a certified SAS Advanced Programmer, he has authored several technical papers and presented at SAS Global Forums.
Justin joined Quest Diagnostics in 2015 and is currently a Health Informatics Analyst in the Medical Informatics division. Inspired by the natural progression of data analytics from general associations to root causes, Justin is relied upon to create frequency tables or advanced statistical modeling to uncover new insights that provide a better understanding of disease management and intervention opportunities.
Mr. Niles has over 10 years of experience in advanced medical analytics, with a special emphasis on publications. To date, he has authored 11 publications and 3 correspondences in peer-reviewed journals, covering a wide variety of topics including respiratory medicine, hematology, pediatrics, toxicology, disaster medicine, and psychology, garnering national attention for many of his publications.
Justin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Economics from Franklin College Switzerland, and a MA in Economics from The New School for Social Research in New York City.
Zhen joined Quest Diagnostics in 2014 as a Health Informatics Analyst, where she primarily supports Quest Diagnostics Health Trends™ reports by analyzing biomedical data, data mining patterns and trends, implementing quantitative models, and authoring papers.
Previously, Zhen had more than 10 years of experience with statistical analysis and data science in clinical and healthcare settings. In her role as a Senior Statistician at University of Michigan and a Statistician at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, she collaborated with surgeons and fellow researchers on various data for clinical trials and observational studies. Zhen received three master’s degrees, including one in Statistics from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Xiaohua Huang is the Director of Information Ventures at Quest Diagnostics, where she is responsible for helping our partners leverage their vast clinical insights database, containing over 25 billion lab results, to make informed healthcare decisions.
During her 25-year career with Quest Diagnostics, Xiaohua has been responsible for a variety of analyses of laboratory data, frequently defining the scope of client data requests and working with clients to expand their knowledge and understanding of the data outputs. With her tremendous knowledge and experience, Ms. Huang is a regular contributor to Quest Diagnostics Health Trends™ reports, a series of projects that focuses on key health areas such as diabetes, kidney disease, and vitamin D deficiency. Xiaohua has co-authored several articles for peer-reviewed publications. Xiaohua earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from East China Normal University in China, and a MA in Statistics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Kathryn joined Quest Diagnostics in 2016 as the Health Informatics Analyst for Information Ventures. Kathryn’s day-to-day responsibilities include providing accurate summarizations of available data, and creating visual representations of market share and disease prevalence that can provide organizations with a clear understanding of effective disease intervention opportunities.
Prior to Quest Diagnostics, Kathryn worked at The University of Wisconsin and Spectrum Health Grand Rapids, utilizing medical data and completing analyses to drive informed actions.
Kathryn earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biostatistics from Grand Valley State University.
Boris joined Quest Diagnostics in 2017 as a Data Scientist, and is responsible for utilizing a series of analytics tools to efficiently manipulate extremely large data volumes, accelerating the time to market for business analytics solutions and reports. Mr. Fainstein provides the framework and architecture for high performance analytic and reporting data environments with various integration capabilities.
With over 30 years of experience as a health care analyst and consultant, Boris has worked for a number of industry-leading companies in the health insurance, employers, and pharmaceutical fields. His expertise is centered around medical and prescription claims evaluation, and overall data quality, building specialized data stores and data marts and interfacing them with SAS.
Boris earned his MBA in Business Administration and Management from the University of New Haven.
